WHO ARE WE?

 NAYACU is a business created by a small group of nature and outdoor sports enthusiasts.  They have come together with a common goal of offering outdoor activities as an alternative to mass tourism.

 Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Murcia and expert bird ringer by SEO-BirdLife. In the course of his degree he took part in different studies of wild species, mainly with forest  birds of prey and reptiles.  He has worked on different environmental studies, as a nature guide in all of the protected areas in the Cuenca Province  and in nature workshops for different town councils.  He is a member of SEO-Birdlife and representative of the ‘Important Bird Area 185’ (San Clemente-Villarrobledo). He is a member and founder of the nature group, ‘Zumaque’ and of ANEAC (the Naturalist Association for Environmental Studies of Cuenca).  He has worked for different environmental organisations taking part in environmental projects, conservation and restoration.  He is a rock climbing and adventure sports instructor with children and teenagers. His  job at the moment is carrying out studies in the Pyrenees with large birds of prey as the Bearded Vulture and as guide in natural reserves.

 After graduating with an MA in English, Julie left Scotland  to travel for a year before returning to "reality" in her home country.   Having decided that "reality" wasn't absolutely necessary in life, she continued to travel and work her way around the world for the following 7 years. She has worked, travelled and lived in Japan, Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, Italy and France. After many years of searching for her own little corner of the world, she has established herself here in Spain to turn the dream of NAYACU into her reality. She is a rock climber, mountaineer, nature lover and  tireless traveller.  She speaks English, Spanish and Japanese.  She is our contact person for foreign clients to reserve  nature trips and activities.  She will also accompany us as a translator and guide on our trips to the country.
