ORNITHOLOGICAL NEWS

Within this project we also want to contribute and promote the study and knowledge of the bird community in the Province of Cuenca and other areas in Castilla- La Mancha where there is little ornithological information.

For this, in this part we are including "ornithological news" in which we collect interesting data about the birdlife in Cuenca and neighbouring areas. Publications about the world of birds are rare mainly due to the lack of local ornithologists.

The large majority of the records belong to the few ornithologists present in the Province. Others have been obtained from the ornithological news section of the scientific magazine "Ardeola", which specializes in ornithology and is a member of the Spanish Ornithological Society (SEO-Birdlife).

To update the news, we would appreciate if we were informed of sightings of birds in the province of Cuenca and neighbouring areas which could be of interest to the following causes:

	New breeding area or disappearance of a species from normal habitats.
	Extreme records of reproduction wintering or migration.
	Unusual date for a species.
	Sighting of big groups of bird in migration, nesting areas, lek areas...
	Sighting of a species in an unusual habitat.
	Sighting of rare birds. As long as they have been confirmed by the Rare Birds Committee of the Spanish Ornithological Society. If not, it will appear as awaiting confirmation.
